2024 Nissan Maxima – The next-generation Nissan Maxima is expected to have a slightly sportier and more distinctive look than previous generations, some of which have a very conservative style.
If the Nissan V-Motion concept influences the 2024 Maxima, this means a more futuristic and sporty interpretation of the current design.
2024 Nissan Maxima
The Maxima can also be a four-door coupe or liftback (hatchback) at some angles, similar to a Kia Stinger or Fastback Peugeot 508. However, this will most likely happen after 2024 or in 2025.
The Nissan Maxima is a bland sedan brand destined to be a fleet car for rental companies or taxi services.
Over the years, the car did have several decent versions, among them the SR, which was supposed to be a sporty variant of the mediocre mid-size front-wheel-drive sedan.
To make matters worse, Maxima dropped the manual option in 2008 and, since then, the powerful 3.5-liter V-6 has had to work with a crippled CVT unit. However, the 2024 Nissan Maxima has the potential to be an attractive proposition.
It was initially believed that the current eighth-generation Maxima would be discontinued in about two years. Declining sales of large sedans further reinforced this confidence in response to the rising demand for crossovers and SUVs. However, the data shows that not all car owners participate in using SUVs / crossovers.
For example, 42 percent of Ford Focus and Chevrolet Cruze owners did not upgrade to high-riding vehicles. Instead, they choose other similar cars from other automakers, often the Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.
Maxima hasn’t been offered in Europe for nearly two decades, but this may change. Considering that compact sedans have become more significant than ever, specific models have become obsolete.
For example, Toyota stopped the Avensis, positioned above the Corolla, favoring the smaller Corolla (not much smaller today).
This, in turn, leaves room for larger models, which is why the Toyota Camry returned to the European market in 2018, after a long hiatus.
The 2024 Nissan Maxima could once again become a global model. In addition, Maxima was already going through a mid-cycle refresh in 2019, so you can bet that it will be around for a longer time.
Hopefully not along with the GT-R and 370Z. Nissan Maxima can also issue a fully electric version of the Nissan Maxima. However, this may not happen until 2025, when the model is undergoing a thorough redesign.
2024 Nissan Maxima Engine
Maxima is expected to use a 3.5-liter VQ35DE V-6 engine still, potentially generating little power. The engine produces 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet (354 Nm).
Maxima’s most significant weak point is the gearbox, which is the CVT. While it’s great for fuel economy, it doesn’t quite match the pretensions of a sportier car.
While Nissan currently has automatic transmission options, the 2023 model can still feature a CVT gearbox. Nissan does come with a heavy-duty toroidal CVT with greater torque capacity but may only be shown on pick-up trucks and SUVs.
We expect the Maxima to have the right manual or automatic option as it was derived from Mercedes, a nine-speed automatic for 2024.
2024 Nissan Maxima Interior
Maxima offers space for five people in a well-run cabin full of soft-touch materials, simple controls, and plenty of advanced features. Front-seat legroom is among the best in its class, while headroom is average.
The rear seat space is not as comprehensive as at larger rivals such as the now-discontinued Toyota Avalon.
Power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, leather-clad steering wheels and shift buttons, two-zone automatic climate control, automatic dimming rearview mirrors, and start buttons are standard across the board.
One of the smallest luggage in the category means maxima begins with a weakness in cargo hauling. However, larger cubbies are convenient for storing everyday items, and their rear seat backrests are folded to hold more oversized items.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard across the Maxima range, and we find it easy to use. The infotainment system can be used as a touchscreen.
Still, there’s also a redundant button in the middle stack for quick access to standard adjustments like audio volume and climate control.
The system also provides vehicle monitoring, remote access, and emergency services. Parents of teenage drivers may appreciate speed warnings, limits, and curfews, and the system automatically contacts emergency services when airbags inflate after an accident.
Tracking Maxima’s location in the event of theft is very useful, such as remote start and door lock access.
2022 Nissan Maxima: The 4-Door Sports Car

For 2022, Maxima will see the introduction of a new exterior color called Scarlet Ember Tintcoat that replaces the Carnelian Red Tintcoat.
Platinum trim also adds a standard rear heated seat. The Maxima range consists of SV, SR, and Platinum values.
Standard features across the lineup include leather seats, navigation, a 3.5-liter 300 horsepower V6 engine, and Nissan’s driver-assist technology suite, the Nissan Safety Shield 360.
2022 Nissan Maxima Exterior
Its sharply styled exterior wraps around a spacious cabin that encourages mainstream ideas that are pretty close to the world of luxury.
Drivers who love the fun behind the wheel will find it with the Maxima, although expectations should be set well below the sports car benchmark.
Unlike other large sedans like the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger, the Maxima is offered with just a 300-hp V-6 and front-wheel drive.
The convenience of modern technology—including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a host of standard driver assistance—comes and counts.
Maxima is a good choice for anti-SUV drivers who need space for passengers and appreciate the comfort of a large car.
2022 Nissan Maxima Price
The base model starts at $37,240, is more expensive than the top-of-the-line Toyota Camry XSE V6, which sells for $35,720 and offers the same power, more brand equity, and a superior overall ownership experience.
The highest-range Honda Accord Touring 2.0T comes at a more affordable price of $37,400 and is an excellent driver’s car, albeit down nearly 50 horses.
The mid-range Maxima SR pushed the asking price up to $42,400, and the highest-range Platinum was $42,550.
