2020 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition – Get it from the sidewalk, and go with confidence. Over thirty years of brute ability are behind your next family adventure, while the distinctive touches in and out pay homage to the legend. Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition. Get upfront in style.

About a year ago, I woke up one morning and realized that I would feel too comfortable. I’m going to put on a few kilograms–OK, more than a few and I’m not as adventurous or energetic as I was in my youth. I’m not happy, just aware of being a little too satisfied. Since then, I’ve hit the gym and kickstarted my long asleep interest outdoors. I dropped a bunch of weight. Throughout the winter I’ve been saving for new mountain bikes and eyeballing My son’s kayak, waiting for my time until spring.

I point all of this because it feels like Nissan Pathfinder might recently experience the same kind of Epiphany. Once simple, compact and hard-wearing SUVS, the 33-year-old nameplate has turned into a three-line crossover with a round style, an indulgent ride and a fully-minded efficiency powertrain with a continuous variable transmission. Like many of us, Pathfinder has grown into more family-minded and much less hardcore. That has left room for Nissan to once again inspire Pathfinder with a few tense looks and the spirit was enjoyed in the early years.

To be clear, this new Rock Creek Edition is not a wholesale Pathfinder rethinking and it’s not a kind of middle-aged four-wheel crisis. Nor is it a denial of what this model has become. While this time, the fourth-gen Pathfinder is getting a little bit in years (it debuted at 2013), there is no shame in the game.

These seven-seat SUVs are holding well, partly thanks to a 2017 facelift, continuously minor updates, and fundamental sound design. Like me, it felt like the new Pathfinder woke up one morning and decided to reclaim the youthful spirit. It pumped itself a bit, bought a few new Rock Creek outdoorsy Duds and is now ready to set out in search of new adventures. In other words, the roots show-for better.

To that end, The Rock Creek Edition butches up styling Pathfinder with black-Out Trim, including a mesh grating, Fender trims, front and rear decoration fascia, roof rails and special 18-inch dark-finished alloy wheels wearing a slightly wider 255/60R18 tire Contact Continental Cross.

Other dark pieces include doorknob, side mirrors, and badges. I am often wary of packets like that, but to my eyes, this blacked-Out Pathfinder is Real scrumptious, embedding more edges into the shape of two basic squares that can otherwise come as a little soft. A set of mud cover and most importantly, an obstacle standard trailer with the best in its class 6,000-pound tow rating adds a little more utilitarian Cred as well.

The Interior of Rock Creek gets some tweaks, too, including a pleasant orange-contrast stitch in the chair, the steering wheel, the door trims, and the armrest lid. The metallic Trim piece revives the dashboard and consoles, and allegedly, “Rock Creek ” badge that adorns on comfortable seatbacks (fabric and faux leather or, depending on Trim). As is common for package types, a suitable set of Rock Creek floors and cargo mats are also available.

Yes, that means that Rock Creek Edition is largely a “Trim-and-tape ” Venture, but this little touch adds a surprisingly convincing effect. The 2020 Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition looks both more rugged and contemporary. Plus, the package is a good buy, it costs only $995 (Nissan claims the Add section up to a value of $2,310).

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Price

While the Pathfinder 2020 starts at $32,475 (including $1,045 delivery) for the basic model of FWD S, Rock Creek fixin is only available at intermediate levels of SV and SL trim value and in your choice of front or all-wheel drive. That means RCE price starts at $36,310 (including shipping) for Front-drive SV and ranges up to $41,650 for SL AWD before option.

As with other 2020 Pathfinders, Rock Creek Edition was powered by a 3.5-liter supporter Nissan, directly injected V6 tuned to deliver 284 horsepower and 259 pound-foot torque. Paired to the continuous transmission of Xtronic variables, Pathfinder is not a fan choice of driving segments, but again, the three-line crossover is not appropriately known for prioritizing such a thing in the first place.

What matters is still surprisingly a thrust down the legs, as I discovered while rushing big Nissan through the liver, 360 degrees of the scenery outside Missoula, Montana. I found a lot of good power from the line and to pass through dawdlers in Montana usually elevated B-Road speeds (there’s nothing much to hit in The Last Best Place, so leadfoots take advantage).

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Specs

Pathfinder is something of a heavyweight segment, weighing between 4,300 and 4,700 pounds, depending on choice and trim. However, the fuel economy is solid for such a large vehicle, Check-In at 20 miles per gallon of town and 27 miles per gallon Highway (23 combined) in the front-drive variant, with an all-wheel-drive model dipped to 19 cities, 26 Highway and 23 combined. The heavier top-spec Platinum model is the exception – it sees a combined mile per gallon slip to 21.

The fun thing about living with CVT is that they tend to give the fuel efficiency ratings advertised in the real world, and while my tests are limited to country driving, my findings suggest that Pathfinder will Obey that tradition. In addition, Nissan has more years of tuning the CVTs that almost everyone, and it shows-the Pathfinder unit is a good one, rarely grating with a slip-coupling soundtrack that blights those other transmissions.

To be clear, even with a tough-looking Livery Rock Creek Edition, Pathfinder is still not an off-roader. The unusual fixed Ground clearance is 7.0 inches, and the arrival of the model and the departure angle are 16.5 degrees and 20.2 degrees, respectively.

However, muddy, snowy and rutted two songs proved to be unsuitable for the AWD Tester equipped, and it’s nice knowing driveline includes full lock settings for light-duty off-Road, just in case. Like many of its key rivals, including the Honda pilots, the Subaru ascent and the Volkswagen Atlas, it’s still fair to say that Pathfinder’s off-Road capability will go beyond what most consumers will ask for their rides.

More important for family cruisers like Pathfinder, the rising quality is observed strong, aided by a very comfortable seat. The visibility is pretty good all the way around, too, makes Pathfinder a very good tourist vehicle-especially with an optional panoramic roof. The Pathfinder best interior tricks keep easy end-and-slide access to the third line, which can still be accomplished with a child seat on the spot. There is enough third line space for a pair of adults to find a shorter path – especially if the second-row tenant obliges by sliding their seats forward – but the road-back is essentially still best for a child.

The cargo chamber is listed at 16 cubic meters behind the third line, 47.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 79.8 cubes when all the seats behind the driver are folded flat.

Unfortunately, the rest of the Pathfinder cab is where this model’s age starts to show. That’s true for the overall button-aesthetic weight, as well as the material selection. In front of the technology cab, yes, a larger 8-Inch Touchscreen didn’t get added recently, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and a 360-degree camera coverage were available. For 2020, Nissan even added USB-C connectivity for faster charging of devices.

2020 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition Features

Even with that update, there is still Apple CarPlay or Android Auto compatibility (let alone wireless charging) and Nissan Connect graphics feel a bit old fashioned. There are other, more technologically advanced SUV families on the market, but there is also a with a (far) more frustrating control scheme, as well.

Nissan has done a solid job to inhibit this Smyrna, Tennessee-built SUV with advanced safety features. Automatic emergency braking is standard in all Pathfinders and Rock Creek models coming with blind-spot warnings, intelligent Cruise Control, and back-to-cross warnings, along with a back door alert, a feature designed to prevent Drivers from accidentally left the goods in the back seat. Unfortunately, Nissan’s fun ProPilot helps path-centered technology is not available.

In order to stay in shape and compete with rapidly changing competition, Nissan will need to grace us with all new models sooner than later. As a bridge into the future and a nod to Pathfinder outdoorsy past, though, 2020 Rock Creek Edition is a good one. Let’s hope the next generation of Pathfinder is built on this Trim spirit and incorporates even more adventure-ready Tech.
