New 2022 Nissan Maxima Concept Redesign

New 2022 Nissan Maxima Concept Redesign – Nissan has been quite adamant about using the IM name, which we have seen with the IMk Concept and IMq Concept. Maybe the new electric sedan will be called IMaxima or something a little weirder like IM Maxima.

The car, whatever it will be called, is set to be introduced in the second half of 2022, which will earmark it as a 2023 model. So, Maxima could last until 2022 at the latest in its current form.

Nissan wants to update about 70 percent of its model portfolio by mid-2021. As a long-term plan, automakers will move to a shorter three-year life cycle for the core model of the current five-year strategy. A new report from Automotive News tries to showcase the brand’s future model-driven plans.

2022 Nissan Maxima Electric Concept

Ashwani Gupta, COO of Nissan, recently told Automotive News. As part of the plan, Maxima could turn into an all-electric sedan for the next generation. More precisely, it will be inspired by the IM “elevated sports sedan” concept and could arrive in the second half of 2022.

A few months before that, Nissan will have to unveil the successor to the 370Z sports car. According to Automotive News, it will be inspired by the older Z sports car in terms of design and will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine – something we’ve actually heard and really hoped it turned out to be true.

Meanwhile, the GT-R is also currently under development but probably won’t arrive before 2023 at the earliest. This means Godzilla is at least two years old in the market until its successor reaches the market.

Looking at the other side of the spectrum, entry-level Versa may not survive beyond the current generation but a refresher is on the cards for the second half of 2022. The above step is The Center, which should remain largely unchanged until 2023 when a mid-cycle refresh should be introduced.

In the SUV segment, Murano had to be completely redesigned for the 2022 model year, while pathfinder had to get a new generation a few months in advance. The same goes for the Fleet.
