New 2022 Nissan Frontier Redesign
New 2022 Nissan Frontier Redesign
New 2022 Nissan Frontier Redesign – We saw a prototype testing the New Frontier 2022 in Michigan, revealing a new style squared and a continuation of the King Cab configuration.
This is where Frontier 2022 enters the scene, trying to offset so many years of neglect. The outgoing model is affordable because it is an outdated design based on previous generations of Navara, and frankly, it is time for Frontier to mount a war against domestic trucks like the Ford Ranger.
New 2022 Nissan Frontier Redesign
Nissan first teased the new Frontier earlier this year, and we can see the same blunt front end here, albeit a little camouflage.
Like Toyota Tacoma’s latest redesign, the New Frontier will likely be a new body and interior on top of the same frame as before, rather than a full ground-up redux. Extended cabin models and crew cabins must remain available, along with short and long-bed configurations.
Their fog and housing lights, wheel arches are on, as well as chrome door knobs and side mirrors are lifted from the Navara, featuring twin-turbo diesel engines as standard for the 2020 model year. Sold in 109 markets around the world, Navara managed both Datsun Truck and Nissan 720 workhorses.
Recently spied dressed in camouflage, Frontier all-new has a lot in common with Navara but it is a different animal under the skin.
The most obvious difference is the direct injection of the V6 with 3.8 liters of displacement, which is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission for the 2020 model year. Compared to the 4.0-liter V6 that it replaces, the Frontier with the 3.8 is $2,000 more expensive.
2022 Nissan Frontier Powertrain
We already know about the frontier’s new powertrain, as Nissan introduces it in outgoing trucks for 2020: a 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque mated to a nine-speed automatic.
In our tests, the new motor wasn’t really more impressive than the old 4.0-liter V-6, with the Frontier 2020 delivering the same acceleration figures and worse fuel economy than the 2017 models we tested.
Rear and four-wheel drive will be offered, and we expect Nissan to once again offer the Pro-4X off-road trim level.
Look for Nissan to debut the New 2022 Frontier either by the end of this year or early 2021, with the new model arriving at the dealership a few months after that.
2022 Nissan Frontier Price
We expect Frontier 2022 prices to start at $27,885, excluding destination costs. That would put it at the higher end of the segment, costing more than the Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, and Ford Ranger.
