New 2021 Nissan Versa SR Price, Specs – Nissan Versa is the cheapest new car in America and reaches more entrances – or maybe just more fleet rentals – than other cars in its class. But while it’s popular, it lacks personality and style. Now, however, Nissan redeemed for their automotive sins with all-new 2021 Versa, which has been much better than its predecessor.
Starting at $15,625, the Versa is no longer the most expensive new car in the US, but a subcompact sedan with a new lined Sheetmetal and a class-exclusive feature guarantees $2270 added to the base price. Likewise, our first experience verifies that the VERSA ultimately measures up to a more less popular but more sophisticated rival, such as the Hyundai Accent and the Toyota Yaris sedan.

The VERSA has changed from undoubtedly unpretentious to universally handsome, with cribbed details from pulling Altima and excited, if ridiculous, kicks crossover, which fills the gaps left by the dead-to-2021 Versa records Hatchback.

In between the opposite three levels of trim (S, SV, and SR), we divide our time between the mid-level SV-painted Nissan’s dazzling Electric Blue Metallic-and Top-of-The-Line SR, which uses the first factory offered 17-inch wheels ever plugged into Versa.
Inside, the new VERSA benefits from smooth-grained plastic and more attractive fabric seats compared to the old car. And Nissan upgrades Switchgear, the chintzy trade plate for sturdy Knobs.
Unfortunately, the back seat lost the spacious accommodation before, with the legroom shrinking by six inches. Some of that space — about three inches from it — went to the front seat passenger, but our comfort was compromised in both locations.
We also hope the voice-recognition software (on SV and SR trims) understands our commands and that the 7.0-Inch Touchscreen responds faster to inputs. Apple CarPlay reduced both of these issues during our short trip but was not available on the base model.
One of our biggest complaints with Versa before is the attitude on the road that is no different. Sure, it’s convenient, but the driving experience doesn’t have a pragmatic spirit, if stale, Accent and Yaris. The new VERSA enhances this with a fun corporate journey, accurate steering, and progressive brake pedals.

The damper no longer allows the sedan to overthrow to the corners, and they help the car maintain a civilian stance on an uneven surface. Nothing would fault the VERSA for the car enthusiast, but this extra Dash driving Verve go a long way. It’s also safer: each new VERSA offers automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, automatic high beam, and a departure-point warning.

Another notable improvement is the new improvement of the powertrain found. The Versa still utilizes a 1.6-liter inline-four natural aspiration, but the increased compression ratio helped Nissan extract another 13 horsepower and seven lb-ft torques, a Total of 122 and 114, respectively. That said, the Versa remained painfully slow, both when we flattened the pedal right left the stoplight and as we tried to pass the highway.

Updated Xtronic CVT effectively mitigates the drone machine by emulating the real gearchanges. EPA’s combined fuel economy on the model equipped with CVT is up to 1 mpg, for 35 mpg, and the CVT reinforced belt produces a better response under 25 mph. The old five-speed manual carries more than as a standard fixture, though only on S Trim, which we do not drive.
