2021 Nissan Armada USA – In the United States, Nissan’s Armada is always great, if not always big business. Big as it may, it always seems inferior to the equivalent of a domestic car. Abroad, however – especially in the Middle East – this is a great seller. Known in other markets as Nissan Patrol, it’s been fresh for 2020. Is it a preview of the 2021 Nissan Armada we will get in stateside? Let’s look at the changes and check out the possibility further.
The most obvious is the new front fascia, which carries the edgier, more angular appearance. This is something of the reinterpretation of Nissan’s V-motion styling language, especially with the giant Chrome V’s trapezoidal line Grille. The headlights took a large-style departure, now with Split’s design partly similar to what was seen on other Nissans. The bottom of the feature is more open-pegged to add visual interest.

Around the back, it might not look like it’s a lot that has changed, but the new backlight design adds sequential signal switching lights. The new rear Stamping cargo door is designed to accommodate the lens. The rear Bumper is done slightly to increase airflow. Styling changes to the profile a little if any.
More significant interiors are updated with new digital displays. A new Infotainment touchscreen supplement stacks the center control, which is surrounded by reconfigured HVAC buttons. The control knob is moved behind the gear selector to create space for dual-screen settings, which also integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A larger display screen is installed between the instrument buttons to display the driver’s vehicle information. Luxury Trim and upholstery seem to be inspired by GT-R also available.
So, what does all of this mean for American racers interested in 2021 Armada? First consider that, while mechanically almost identical, it has different attractiveness in the market where it was sold as a Patrol.
The desert dwellers love a rough body-on-frame because it is only suitable for the wide blasting of dunes as it is to explore the streets of lined skyscrapers. Thus the style changes may not make their way to the North American-spec 2021 Nissan Armada of three lines of SUV; Vehicles usually wear a slightly different look in other markets.
However, additional interior views are expected to be added. They will do much to modernize Nissan’s 2021 Armada and keep it fresh in a very competitive segment. Nissan recently announced that Nissan’s 2020 Armada carries more identically than the 2019 year model, except for the addition of heated outside mirrors and optional 22-inch wheels.
Given that, refresh next year will be a welcome change, but we will probably have to wait at least a few more months to learn what might be in store for the biggest Nissan SUV.
The Patrol is a global model in which the Armada has been based due to two lines that are consolidated to model 2017 years. While Armada gets a special US styling tweak and supply equipment, they still share quite a bit in terms of exterior design.

For 2020, Patrol gets a more angular face. Gone is a headlight in the swirled surrounds and a curved bottom grid, replaced by straight lines and hard edges. The fog light housing is now hidden inside a chiseled lattice opening that can also incorporate functional air curtains for enhanced aerodynamics.
The styling changes in the back are less drastic, but the backlights have lengthened and lost their rounded edges. The chrome signboard Panel now extends to the backlight housing, and the lower bumper gets a two-piece design with the rear Skid plate display.
In it, the changes are more comprehensive. Patrol 2020 gets a new technology package, finally combining Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Infotainment system now sports two screens: one on top for navigation and featuring other features and one below for vehicle functions, including application and climate control functions. Physical controls appear to be retained on both sides of this screen.
There is also an extensive range of advanced safety and security technologies. It includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warnings, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
While Patrol has a choice of V-6 powertrain overseas, we do not expect new engines for the Armada to be renewed. The 5.6-liter V-8 should continue to be the only offering, perhaps with a slight lump of power. We look forward to seeing the updated Armada arriving next year as the 2021 model.
This exterior redesign is also expected to affect the latest Nissan changes that have been renewed Titan, which has seen testing on U.S. roads. While Titan is also expected to incorporate new technology, spy shots of the interiors have revealed that it will not display the same Dual-Screen set up on the center console.
