2025 Nissan Altima: What Does It Look Like?

2025 Nissan Altima

Nissan Altima continues to present conventional styling in a good way as an efficient and practical sedan.

The Nissan Altima is a midsize sedan on sale for almost three decades. Today’s Altima is part of the car’s sixth generation.

It comes with four-cylinder engine options and optional all-wheel drive, eventually becoming Altima’s calling card as the rest of the vehicle was left behind.

Most competitors in this segment also offer hybrid powertrains, but Altima runs without electrification.

The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, but the turbocharged 2.0-liter found in the VC-Turbo trim provides more excellent performance. AWD is available in most frames in addition to the base engine.

The 2025 Nissan Altima is expected to have a sharp display, spacious cabin, and all-wheel drive available.

For power, the 2025 Altima is expected to have two different four-cylinder engines to choose from: a base 182-hp engine or a turbocharged variable compression unit with 248 horsepower, comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and provides a more polite and manly boost.

With an EPA estimate of 39 mpg for highway driving, the Altima is highly fuel-efficient for non-hybrid vehicles.

The roomy interior, comfortable seating, optional 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and solid offering of standard safety features make this sedan easy to use—though it doesn’t have the soul of a Honda Accord or the refinements of a Toyota Camry.

Nissan is expected to update the Altima’s look for 2025 with new wheels, a redesigned front fascia with new LED headlights, and the automaker’s new logo.

The interior of the Altima gets a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that’s standard on the SL and SR models but is available for the SV as optional equipment.

Nissan has expanded the standard safety features in its Safety Shield 360 driver assistance technology.

New standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, automatic rear braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and high beam assist.

The Altima has a standard 188-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

The optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces up to 248 horsepower with premium fuel and uses CVT.

While Nissan promotes innovative variable compression technology, only the 2.5-liter engine can be had with all-wheel drive.

The standard four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive have predictable, albeit mediocre, acceleration. The VC-Turbo engine makes the Altima much faster.

Despite its unconventional turbocharged engine and unusual all-wheel drive, the Accord is less fun than the Nissan.

The Altima SR receives sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch wheels, making it more entertaining on winding road sections. However, these improvements also reduce the ride quality of regular Altima models.
