2023 Nissan Versa: What We Know So Far
2023 Nissan Versa
2023 Nissan Versa – The New Nissan Versa is a subcompact car that provides comfort and a small outdoor space. In the absence of major changes in the future for 2023, we think today is as good as going to your local dealership and checking it out.
Rogue, Pathfinder, Frontier, and Rogue Sport all get significant redesigns, so we don’t think Nissan will expend any real energy to transform versa for 2023 beyond some minor changes to trim or options.
2023 Nissan Versa
The Nissan Versa entered the model year, still fresh from a dramatic redesign in 2020. Today Versa is light years ahead of the previous two generations in terms of improvements and features.
Subcompact sedans are no longer the cheapest cars on the market, but still complement in the lowest price class, and do so by offering many cars to buyers for money.
2023 Nissan Versa Design
Versa borrows styling elements from larger Nissan sedans, including v-shaped grilles, chiselled haunches, and smooth rear spoilers. The back seat space has always been a strong point, even more so with the current design. Five can travel with legitimate comfort, and the luggage has a very respectable 14.7 cubic feet.
Inside, buyers will find a 7-inch touchscreen, three USB ports, and a start button. Mid-level SV and SR are equipped with satellite radio, voice control, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. To add a luxurious feel, SR offers premium fabric upholstery and leather-clad steering wheel circumference and shift knobs.
Nissan Versa Engine
The 1.6-litre four-cylinder carryover engine is updated in 2020 to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy and performance. The output remains at 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. The basic model S starts with a five-speed manual transmission, although most buyers choose the available continuously variable transmission (CVT), which is standard on other trims.
The CVT-equipped Versa achieved EPA estimates of 32 miles per gallon of city, 40 mpg of highways, and 35 combined. By manual, the estimate slips to 27/35/30 mpg (city/highway/combined).
Nissan Versa Safety
Nissan Safety Shield 360 security system continues to be used as a standard. All models have front and rear automatic emergency braking, lane departure alerts, blind-spot monitoring with rear traffic alerts, and automatic height.
The mid-level SV and line-topping SR also get driver alertness monitors and rear-seat reminders. Adaptive roaming controls remain exclusive to SR. It is rare to find a standard level of driver assistance feature in this segment and even in vehicles with the above price class. While the previous generation Versa grew at the lowest price, Versa currently excels in overall value.
Fuel Economy
Versa 2023 offers an estimated EPA rating of 32 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on highways when equipped with CVT. The entry-level Versa with manuals has a much worse figure, with the city’s estimate of 27 mpg and 35 highways. We tested the auto-equipped Versa on our highway’s 75 mph fuel-efficient route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen, where it produces 40 mpg.
2023 Nissan Versa Interior
Interior versa no longer looks and feels like a children’s play area. It uses a nice material throughout and has a soft-touch surface on the door and dashboard. While Nissan doesn’t offer power-adjustable leather upholstery and upholstery here, can obtain the most luxurious models with heated front seats and leather-clad steering wheels and shift knobs.
The mid-level SV model unlocks some of the standard features you want, such as a driver’s seat-mounted armrest and a digital display in a gauge cluster, while the top-level Versa SR delivers automatic climate control, passive hands-free entry, remote start.
The back seat can comfortably fit two adults but has less legroom than the older Versa. The sedan had a handy cube in its centre console, and we managed to fit six carry-on suitcases in the trunk;
The New Versa features a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with handy buttons and knobs. However, only SV and SR trim levels have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
We found that the CarPlay interface responded to our feedback better during our evaluation period than the car’s normal menu. Each Versa has three USB ports and voice command capabilities, but anyone who wants the ability to listen to SiriusXM satellite radio should look higher than the basic model.
