2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL Redesign
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL – The Nissan Pathfinder, a new family SUV, is an interesting one. It’s an excellent vehicle for families and can be a head-scratcher in other ways. The 7-passenger SUV is built on the same platform as the 2017 Nissan Armada, also built-in Canton.
We have been baffled by Nissan’s decision to keep the Sentra, a comfortable, compact sedan, while the Rogue SUV was redesigned and became a sportier, more robust choice.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL
The Pathfinder appears to be following the Rogue’s path. The suspension allows for an unusual degree of impact harshness for a car-based SUV family.
If that’s what you want, this is an excellent vehicle to get it. But it isn’t the best choice for covering lots of miles on rough roads.
The optional V-6 engine will get you up to speed pretty quickly. The 6-speed automatic transmission has learned some new tricks since the last generation.
It’s noisy with underlying turbulence which creeps up on suburban streets. The Rogue’s chassis was a bit more stable than the Pathfinder, allowing a little more movement after each impact. Wiesenfelder did not go that far.
We did not put Rogue S and Pathfinder into the same accident to test the top-line models. If a vehicle hits something in front or behind, then you do not know exactly what you hit because the driver has no control over the impact itself.
What’s New For 2023?
The 2023 Pathfinder SL will be arriving with a new color, Satin Pearl Ivory, an 8-speed transmission, oversize wheel covers, wheel locks, decklid spoiler, flip-key keyless entry, keyless push-button start, and more.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL Design
With a new design, powertrain, and tech, the fifth-generation Pathfinder was launched in 2022. We expect the 2023 Pathfinder SL will be a carryover model, with this crossover still fresh.
The Pathfinder’s rugged charm was lost in the fourth-generation redesign, but it has a little bit of it back with the 2022 redesign.
The most notable change is found on the exterior, where Nissan has brought back some of the ruggedness that made its name.
The new crossover features a flatter design, a prominent V-motion grille, and flared fenders. We expect the plan to stay the same even though it is only in its second year.
The new Pathfinder interior is sporty and sporty. It features a simple dashboard setup, modern HVAC interface, stubby shifter, flat-bottom steering wheels, and a “floating” infotainment screen.
The Pathfinder can be loaded with luxurious options, such as semi-aniline quilted leather seats.
The Pathfinder’s 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 10.8-inch head-up display, and a 9.8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay are all tech-friendly. The cabin design and features of the Pathfinder 2023 will remain the same.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL Interior
The Pathfinder’s first row of materials swaps out the outgoing generation’s ubiquitous hard-touch plastics with generous padding.
Much of it is adorned with double stitching. A pair of faux leather bolsters further bolster the front seats. This touch is purely for show, but the textured, perforated material does give the illusion of more luxury than the outgoing model’s hard plastics.
The second row maintains its predecessor’s comfortable seating position and ample headroom for taller passengers.
While the electronic gear selector dial and drive-mode dial felt a little loose in our test vehicle, other controls appeared ready to go.
The cabin’s silver accents are attractively brushed, and it is nice to see that the quality extends beyond the Platinum.
We sampled the SL grade with basic leather upholstery instead of the semi-aniline cowhide in Platinum. The seats are firm but supportive.
There is not much bolstering; more of a gentle curve that curves around your body. The seat bottoms are slightly higher than the seatbacks to give more thigh support.
This, combined with the long wheelbase, makes for a ride that is just as comfortable as quiet and smooth.
However, materials were consistent throughout — a good step in the right direction considering the reductions in trim levels.
The new interior design of the Pathfinder is better than its predecessor and is now competitive with the best in the class.
Modern and coherent dashboard design, with many soft-touch surfaces throughout. Although hard plastics may be present, they are hidden in less obvious areas.
The overall build quality is solid and high-quality. Insulation is good for reducing wind noise and road noise.
Infotainment and Connectivity
You can choose between a standard 8-inch touch display or an optional 9-inch display for the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL.
Both touch screens work well and respond quickly to inputs. They also have simple menus. They are both accompanied by various buttons and knobs on the dashboard for audio and climate control. This arrangement makes it simple to adjust settings while on the move.
The standard analog gauge cluster is reliable, but the 12.3-inch digital set offers some exciting tricks. It can also display helpful navigation views between the speedometer and tachometer, with turn-by-turn directions.
- Standard infotainment Features: An 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, four USB ports, and a six-speaker stereo.
- The available infotainment features are A 9-inch touch screen, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and navigation. Two USB ports, two additional USB ports, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless device charging.
- Additional features: Keyless Entry and Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control
- Other features available: Remote start and a panoramic sunroof
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL Engine
ZF Friedrichshafen is a German automotive supplier that supplies the Pathfinder nine-speed automatic transmission.
This transmission is mated to a 3.5-liter Nissan V-6, which produces 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. Nine speeds quickly switch between gears when you need more power.
However, it can sometimes slow down on moderate starts and turn the engine red during low-speed acceleration at awkwardly low rpm.
Without making the driver feel unsteady, the powertrain can produce enough low-end torque for such situations.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL Release Date

2023 Nissan Pathfinder SL Price
We are not sure of the pricing, but we anticipate that the prices for the 2023 Pathfinder SL will remain the same as the current model’s MSRP range, $34,560 to $49.240 (destination fee included).
